Digital Skills for Teacher Success + Essential AI for Teachers

Digital Skills for Teacher Success + Essential AI for Teachers is an interactive, hands-on workshop that equips Basic School Teachers with the digital and AI skills needed to thrive in classrooms with limited or no internet access. Participants will learn to confidently operate core computer and smartphone functions for everyday lesson preparation and classroom administration, identify free, offline-friendly educational apps suited to low-connectivity settings. The session also introduces generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot to help draft lesson plans, worksheets, and classroom materials, alongside UNESCO-aligned guidelines for using AI responsibly, safely, and ethically around minors. By the end of the session, attendees will have produced one ready-to-use lesson resource combining a digital skill and an AI tool, along with a personal plan for applying these tools in their own school context. This session is designed for Basic School Teachers (kindergarten, primary, and junior high school levels), with no prior digital or AI experience required—the workshop is built for a highly mixed range of digital literacy and assumes intermittent or no reliable school internet access. Participants are encouraged to bring a personal smartphone or device where possible, though shared and loaner devices will be available for hands-on activities, and are welcome to stay on for the immediately following TeacherPreneur session in the same room.
